Acoustic Retrofit

Note: Acoustic Retrofits can ONLY be performed by a BFTS Authorized Retrofitter for
" All Instruments". They are noted as such on our dealer listings.

Nut
Nut relocation is accomplished with our non-invasive BFTS Shelf nut, machined from bone or graphite, and expertly retrofitted by one of our trained, Authorized Retrofitters.
NOTE: If your acoustic guitar includes a zero fret, refer to the Type 2 Electric style for identification.
Saddle
Since acoustic guitars use a fixed saddle and bridge, the saddle position will be relocated on the bridge and a new saddle will be crafted by one of our Authorized Retrofitters who has been trained "For All Instruments" using our BFTS Shelf Saddle to meet our patented BFTS Tuning and Pitch Offsets.
Authenticity
Each Retrofit comes with a BFTS Logo Serial Numbered Sticker for authenticity.
This is typically fixed to the back of the headstock or inside the guitar at the neck block or label.

Guitars and Basses Manufactured with BFTS

If your guitar or bass includes the BFTS from one of our licensed Manufacturers or builders, the nut location and saddle adjustments will already meet the BFTS specifications. Check our Manufacturers and Builders pages for listings of the many companies employing BFTS.

Nut - Electric and Acoustic
Since the instrument has been built with the BFTS, the nut will have been positioned by the manufacturer according to the BFTS specifications and will look exactly like a standard nut for that model of instrument: bone, plastic, GraphTech Tusq, locking nut, roller nut, zero fret, etc.
Saddle - Electric
The individually adjustable saddles on your instrument will have been set to the BFTS specifications by the manufacturer.
Saddle - Acoustic
The fixed saddle on your instrument will have been crafted by the manufacturer to meet the BFTS specifications.
Authenticity
Each guitar or bass comes with the BFTS logo for authenticity. Typically, this is positioned on the back of the headstock and can be a sticker or an etching into the wood according to the manufacturer's design. Occasionally, low volume builders will use a Serial Numbered Sticker just as seen with a retrofitted instrument.
